What is Paramount In Motion?

Paramount in Motion consists of transit program partnerships between the City and various transit agencies to improve local and regional mobility for Paramount residents. Long Beach Transit Routes

The City’s current Fixed Route and College Bound systems are operated by Long Beach Transit.

Call (562) 591-2301 to plan your trips. Operators can accommodate English, Spanish, and Tagalog speakers. Get live LBT bus time arrivals by texting the following message with your stop number to 27299: LBT# (e.g.: LBT0865 or LBT0865 71)

Fixed Routes

Route 21A & 21B

  • Cost: $1.25 per trip
  • Hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 4:45 a.m. to 1:10 a.m., Saturday & Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Buses will arrive every 30 minutes Monday through Friday and every 40 minutes on Saturday and Sunday.

Route 22

  • Cost: $1.25 per trip
  • Hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 4:46 a.m. to 8:25 p.m., Saturday & Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • 30-minute wait time, Monday - Friday; 40-minute wait time, Saturday & Sunday.

Route 71

  • Cost: $1.25 per trip
  • Hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 4:45 a.m. to 8:25 p.m., Saturday & Sunday, 5:06 a.m. to 8:55 p.m.
  • 30-minute wait time, Monday - Friday; 40-minute wait time, Saturday & Sunday.

College Bound

Paramount University Pass (PUP)

  • Cost: FREE
  • The PUP card provides the student with unlimited travel on Long Beach Transit and Metro bus routes to nearby campuses.
  • LBT routes 21A/21B, 22 & 71 travel directly to Cerritos College & LBCC Pacific Coast Campus. Transfers are available to LBCC Liberal Arts Campus, Compton College, CSUDH & CSULB. If you are a college student or studying at a nearby trade school, you may use this service.
  • Service for fall, spring and summer semesters.
  • Student(s) must renew card by sending a copy of their class schedule 10-15 days before school starts to avoid service interruption.
  • There will be a fee to replace lost PUP cards.

Dial-A-Lift (DAL)
Dial-A-Lift offers curb-to-curb, shared-ride transit service exclusively for those who are mobility impaired, reside in the City of Paramount, are at least 18 years of age, and are unable to board or access the LBT buses. This service is only available for Paramount residents traveling throughout the cities of Paramount, Long Beach, Lakewood, and Signal Hill.

Call (562) 591-8753, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for an application. 

About the program:

  • Cost of membership: $2.00
  • Reservations can be made by calling Global Paratransit Inc. at (562) 435-0115 between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., seven days per week and up to seven days in advance of the trip.
  • DAL offers trips from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
  • Riding with a companion is allowed, if space is available at the time of reservation. The companion will pay a $2.00 fee. Both member and companion must be picked up and dropped off to the same location.
  • Service animals are welcome. Please notify the reservationist when making the reservation.

Fiesta Taxi/Ride Yellow

The City's taxi program includes taxi-based services for in-town uses as well as out-of-town medical uses for eligible users.  These programs are for Paramount residents only. The taxi-based programs include transit services for out-of-town medical visits, in-town trips for a variety of uses, and trips to the City’s Elderly Nutrition Program at the Paramount Park Community Center.  In order to take advantage of these programs, residents will need to complete the “Paramount In Motion” application, be approved, receive their transit identification card, and load money on their card to pay for the subsidized transit services.  Applications are available at our Paramount Community Center and Recreation Office.

Please Note:  There will be a fee to replace lost cards.

Medical Taxi
Paramount’s Medical Taxi Program is designed to help Senior Citizens (persons 60 years or older) and disabled residents make their medical and dental appointments to out-of-town medical centers within an approximate five-mile radius.

Call 1 (877) 933-3396 for service.

  • Cost: $1.00 each one-way trip (round-trip is $2.00).
  • Each swipe of the transit card is good for a one-way trip. Maximum of 20 trips per month.
  • Service is from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday - Sunday (includes holidays).
  • Riding with a companion is allowed. One person will be charged. Both must be picked up and dropped off at the same location.
  • Please specify if you will need a wheelchair-accessible van.

Dial-A-Ride (DAR)

The Dial-A-Ride program is designed to help Senior Citizens (persons 60 years or older) and disabled residents that need assistance going to an approved location within the City.   

Call 1 (877) 933-3396 for service.

  • Cost: $1.00 each one-way trip (Round-trip is $2.00).
  • Each swipe of the transit card is good for a one-way trip. Maximum of 20 trips per month.
  • Service is from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday - Sunday (includes holidays).
  • Ridesharing is encouraged. One person will be charged. Both must be picked up and dropped off at the same location.
  • Packages are limited to a number that can be handled by the passenger safely.
  • Please specify if you will need a wheelchair-accessible van.

Elderly Nutrition Program (ENP)
Paramount’s Elderly Nutrition Program is designed to help Senior Citizens (persons 60 years or older) get to and from our Senior Center at the Paramount Community Center.

Call 1 (877) 933-3396 for service. 

  • Cost: FREE
  • Service from a residential location within the City of Paramount to the Senior Center at Paramount Park only. Seniors must be enrolled in the Senior Program and have no other means of transportation.
  • Service is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (excludes holidays).
  • Maximum 40 trips per month.
  • Ridesharing is encouraged.
