Give Your Thoughts on Five Possible New Park Projects

The City is seeking grant funding for five proposed park projects. Residents can give their input about them on various dates between May 23 and June 15. Here is the schedule and locations. Come out and give us your thoughts. Call (562) 220-2121 with questions.

1. May 23rd at Spane Park – A city booth and staff member will be at Spane Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to gather community input on a proposed renovation and expansion of the park’s ballfields.

2. May 25th at Village Park – A city booth and staff member will onsite from 11 a.m. to 12 noon to gather community input on a proposed handball court development.

3. May 28th at Progress Park - A city booth and staff member will there from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to gain community input on a proposed renovation of the ballfields.

4. May 29th at Paramount Park Community Center – A staff member will be in the Community Center to gather community input on a proposed expansion of the facility.

5. June 1st at the Heritage Festival – the city booth will have all five projects on display for community input.  The event runs from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and will be on Paramount Blvd., between Harrison St. and Alondra Blvd.

6. June 5th at Salud Park – A city booth and staff member will be at the park from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and then from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. to get input from park users regarding the development of another fitness park on the SCE right-of-way between Jackson St. and Alondra Blvd.

7. June 6th at Jackson School – A city staff member will be at Jackson School from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to review the proposed park development on the SCE right-of-way between Jackson St. and Alondra Blvd.

8. June 8th at Paramount Park Community Center – A city staff member will be available from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to discuss and review all five proposed park projects and gather community input.

9. June 15th at Progress Park – A city booth and staff member will be at the park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to get input regarding the proposed renovation of the Progress Park ballfields.
